The last two days paying with Lightning (via Alby Hub) anything over $100 felt like…. Well, you can guess how I felt.

i feel you

what channel do you have? do you use the recommended LSPs? and how many do you have, what's the balance in those?

Yes, two channels that I purchased from recommended LSPs with enough capacity.

Make sure you have enough channels open 5-6 minimum, LSP’s are ok, but connecting to a good pleb ran node is choice

I've spun down my hub yesterday. After setting it up in Nov, opening a 250k channel to Megalith and a 100k channel to zapstream. I got to withdraw 150k sats last night from the hub (including the available LN balance)after closing all channels and before shutting it down.

Lightning sucks.

Related: I'm so tired of people who don't repost any of my posts saying "set up lightning so I can zap you" while I'm so mentally exhausted from harassment by people here, I don't even have the motivation to help the dev with the project I initiated for nostr tip bots with Monero and doggie coin (and other crypto)

What does this have ANYTHING to do with the post above?

You go from "liquidity issues", to "lightning sucks, we need crypto instead"...

Lightning sucks, that simple

Bitcoin, doggie coin, and Monero have no "liquidity issues" and 2 of the 3 have usable transaction fees for tipping

Who tf uses those for transactions or zaps???

10 years ago I tipped someone a few thousand doggie coin for telling me about the rapper Eyedea and now those doggie coin are worth thousands of funbux.

Digit likes Eyedea too. I met her way later.

The person I tipped probably doesn't have the coins anymore because the reddit tip bot of the time rug pulled later. We need to do it better this time

Lightening sucks often. And it is so unpredictable. Most say you should have multiple channels with enough liquidity.

I have only one channel to LSP Megalith and were able to make severel bigger transactions in the last 3 months.

I've had the SAME success while using a recommended Acinq channel with 1M sats liquidity, mostly on my side. When I contacted support I've been told that I needed to keep experimenting with other providers like Megalith.

I call this liquidity censorship. I'm connected with a friend ( nostr:nprofile1qqs2uyqg6gunpdmkcxqf9ah2ks0ykz0u70cr7djpkx6wdm3659ndwcqpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0zfe8xc ) and I've NEVER had this issue at all and Lord knows I sent mega payments with the same channel size.

Never tried any of the recommended partners (I'm too stingy), but just opening own channels with medium/larger routing nodes works really well (and cheap)
