Why is it socially acceptable to say someone is “skinny” but not acceptable to say that someone is “fat”?

It is to the point that my 9-year-old thinks “fat” is a bad word 🤬

It is called common courtesy. One says chubby or something softer like that.

I find saying "do not eat that or you are gonna get fat" ok, but "there, next to the fat lady" not ok.

Well if they get offended by a child calling them chubby, then can GFT. That is as gentle as one can go I suppose.

What about a child calling another child “chubby” ?
