Try to think a little bit more deeply about this.

Let’s say I want to reward the project team behind Damus but I as an outsider am lacking transparent information on who those contributors are it’s going to be hard for me to pay with conviction (and larger amounts). It’s not going to scale because people are not going to be willing to make large payments without this transparency.

However, if the project team has an intelligent and non bureaucratic way of sharing who their key contributors are, I can make make a much larger payment

Each node (person) will have a different criteria and method for rewarding. This is decentralization. Break free of the old ways

There is still value to transparency in a decentralized world. Of course it’s never going to be perfect and it’s still going to require judgment from each person but you will see it won’t work without some level of transparency. The couple of sats you’re zapping are not going to reward the appropriate people in the long term.

You need to trust. In people, nature, emergent order and so on. You’re trying hard to get certainty, which is not possible in life. I don’t know exactly how things will turn out, but I believe that if people are free to act freely, then everything will be fine.

I think your philosophy is the proper approach to reduce anxiety but our brains are hard wired to reduce uncertainty. We can’t just pretend that’s not who we are.

I think believing you can create certainty and control things clearly outside your control, is irrational and leads to nothing but anxiety. Put your energy on the things within your control, and do those things to the best of your ability

Trying to gather some information before making a decision is not a symptom of anxiety. We can intuit a lot of things, but this is not one of them.

Absolutely, this is something we can all agree upon. The unanswerable question however is “what can we control?” The things we as humans previously thought we couldn’t control changes constantly. That’s progress.

This thread is bang on. To add, everyone adds value somehow, somewhere conscious of it or not. The issue with other social platforms is that the algo rewarded a certain approach to posting, topics, frequency. Which resulted in influencers contributing to the ecosystem or not to rise above all else. Don’t have the answers, but exciting trend nonetheless!
