Life is too short for moronic people who refuse to take any personal responsibility for their life.

Yes. I have had these conversations

But there are people in our lives who we can’t eject when they are upset with us because they were retarded. That’s the thing to negotiate. Admittedly I have a difficult relationship with my mother but it got better when I started treating her like a special Olympics contestant.

Tell me about it

You should just stack sats for your mom (if you can afford it). I imagine that is less of a headache and better for your own sanity. Show her the balance every few months so she can track it. After a few years she will understand. Actions are more powerful than words.

yep i've done this for people. give them (or their parents) a little piece of paper that shows them how to view the balance on a block explorer, toss some sats in every christmas for years consistently - they get it eventually (literally and figuratively).

down the line, you upgrade that "piece of paper" to a hardware wallet that you set up for them. when they're ready for it.

This is probably a better and cheaper way to get people into bitcoin. Cheaper because you save time and protect your sanity lol plus you'll feel good knowing that you have given them something that can really help them in a meaningful way in the future.

Totally. kind of only applicable to family and close friends. but more meaningful as a result.

You take on all the risk, but depending on your level of conviction it doesn't necessarily feel risky.

Also might be the cheapest (for you) gifts you ever give, relative to their ultimate value.

Those are the only people you should focus on teaching bitcoin to anyway. Talking about bitcoin too much with strangers and loose acquaintances is somewhat dangerous. Instead of giving someone a gift card for their birthday, download a mobile wallet and send them sats in real time. Let them experience it. They will forget that it's on their phone and check it every few months when they hear something about it.
