When you send to Muun via lightning there are not fees. When you spend from Muun there are. There are no LN fees on Muun. It’s all on chain fees.

I ment payment. So when I pay LN invoice I pay on-chain fees? Pretty confused now. Why you like Muun?

When you receive via Muun, there are no fees. That is why I like it for onboarding noobs and think it’s a useful product. You can explain the intricacies later. They get self sovereign sats instantly with no fees. However, when you go to send the sats you received, you have to swap out and pay fees.

I must admit that LN is what I want and need to understand but it's not that simple. The channel management sounds risky. Is there a way and a wallet to do it in safe manner and don't get closure?

Mutiny or zues, lightning for dummies

Runes 🤣💀

My fave.

In both cases channel closures apply. Correct? nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg Federations I am watching closely.

I prefer Phoenix for self custody, but there is no LNURL so you can’t use it on Nostr to receive. There are trade offs with everything, no silver bullet. Open a fat channel on Phoenix and that’s your best bet in my opinion. Forced channel closing is an issue and could happen. There is no way around that even running your own lightning node. Part of the decision you have to make to use the network.

Use nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg self custodial like Phoenix but plus members get a LNURL. Closest wallet to a silver bullet that I've seen so far and I've used almost all of them. You can also use mutiny like a custodial wallet if you want super cheap fees and no force closure by using Esats on a fedimint built into the wallet.
