🚨 #Artstr #art club is a little tonight but open for the next 24 hrs.

Theme is ‘memories’

Photographs, paintings, things you picked up on your travels. I want to see them.

Below is a photograph I took from the years I lived in Bahrain 🇧🇭

Never fails to cheer me up.

That's a good but though theme.

I kind of want to just post pictures of tattoos🤷🏽

Picture taken circa 2002 or 2003 in East Berlin at the most beautiful cemetery I ever visited.

Thanks for sending this. Not something I expected to see but it’s stunning workmanship and craft.

#Artstr memories of days before Bitcoin.

A photo of my son at 3 years old (2006) with a bit of photoshop.

This is so cute! He looks like a little superhero throwing a fireball. What was the concept?

No concept, just goofing off.

He was dancing around the yard and I caught this pose and thought it would look awesome with a fireball.

They couldn’t have just used a model?

Sometimes they use models for that sort of thing. Certainly easier when you're doing crazy stuff like explosions and such. In my mind it should be easier to match light too🤷🏽 easier to light something small to match shadows to sun actor rather than if you're doing compositing🤷🏽 sometimes they even have a matte painting and a model in layers in front of the camera and across running in-between. But with today's HD TV's it might be easier to see the effect and ruin the illusion?

Depends how good you are at blending it I guess.

But often real places real makeup real whatever always looks better than whatever level of effects or cgi you've got🤷🏽

Yes ma'am. The cooler looking one.

I'm the style of Ralph Steadman who did the art for free and loathing in Las Vegas.

Bangkok 2013, on my way to the fiat mines.

Heat on the harbor, the summer my daughter was born

Close to where it started, close to where I am at. Sometime I forget all that was in between…

That imperfect crossing of the wires top of frame drives me nuts, years later.

That was pretty much the day I decided to move back to Switzerland some 7 years ago.

7 years, and I still feel like an expat, in the country I was born and « educated » in… weird.

The best supervisor I ever hired (Oxford)

This lane is (un)surprisingly not traveled by many people.

Hey! I went there once!

The photo was taken on a 115 degree fahrenheit day 🥵

Oof! I forget how hot exactly it was when I was there but yeah I didn't know that hot existed.

Where I am sometimes in the summer it'll get to be 110. Highest I remember is 118 and it made the power go out...

But at Chitchenitza it was a whole nother level of hot. It was hot in the shade. You couldn't escape. There was a breeze but the breeze was wafts of flame coming at you it seemed like. As excited as I was for the cool shit I read about the place like the ball game of death and the urge to ask the guides about Ayahuasca... As soon as I got off that bus and felt that heat everything went out of my brain.

I didn't care nothing! I just thought "it's fucking hot"

Exactly! 💯🎯

That was in Feb so there was some good weather. The day before wasn’t so good.

Would love to go here. Got so close one time but my flight was cancelled. Maybe soon.

It is definitely somewhere I plan to go back to one day.

Work trip to Barcelona in 2014.

This is one of my favorite pieces in my room🤷🏽

I bought it at a local art pub crawl on a date.

It's called The Cosmic Couple by an artist called Nairobi Tony

When I went visited Nigeria last Christmas, my uncle who had been missing in Ghana for 2 years suddenly turned up. No one knew whether he was dead or alive before then. Apparently, he lost his phone and couldn’t find the means to replace. While he was in Ghana, he was trying to make a living selling his art on the roadside. Anyways, before I left Nigeria, he gave me a bunch of his paintings to take with me. Here’s one of them:

This is what you call priceless art. Thank you for sharing the story.

Yep! It’s something that I’ll always cherish.
