i'm trying to find some health advice for someone who is 40, active, in -shape with the following symptoms:

he has acid reflux every night and almost a constant feeling of reflux in his throat.

he doesn't drink alcohol. he stopped drinking coffee a year ago.

he wonders if a hiatal hernia could be causing it. it started in earnest maybe a year ago following a fall in which he landed on his hip on concrete.

my own wacky worries would include trying to get rid of vax side effects, glyphosate on wheat, more relaxation/less stress, perhaps intermittent fasting.

he is almost scared not to eat because he thinks it will cause more acid. he also takes tums every day.

Where do you live? My wife is an integrated health PA in Iowa & Illinois. She can help you if you’re from the region

VA? is that close enough?

i could send some satoshis for a phone consult. maybe just give me a figure and then i'll DM if i get the friend to agree to consult

Book your consultation and tell her you met me on Nostr

Tums will almost always make the situation worse. They are filled with garbage and too much acid isn’t usually the cause of reflux. Even though we are all told that. I would highly recommend resetting his system by doing a strict carnivore diet for 30 days. Eat your last meal of the day at least 5 hours before going to bed and see if that helps some. Sounds like his whole GI is messed up and a nice reset would do him good

I think my dad uses apple cider vinegar against it, but I have no clue.

does it work immediately or is it like a preventative measure?

def putting this on the grocery list for myself too

I think he takes some, diluted, every night.

Make a couple of Helycobacter PCR self-test, they are affordable and easy to buy online. If it turns out you have it, start a natural treatment with Manuka Honey.

When you are having the issue, some diluted apple cider vinegar helps. Most of the time acid reflux actually comes from too little stomach acid. When acid is low, the sphincter at the top of the stomach doesn't seal and acid leaks out. Try taking Betaine HCl with every meal. Digestive enzymes can also help, but the Betaine HCl is the major helper. I've helped numerous people who had problems no doctor could solve, fix their problem with this one cheap supplement with meals.
