does anyone have any old or rare coins that are worth more than their normal denominated value? 👀

Yes.

More than the melt value of the metal?

touche.

Without making a joke about @bitcoinmagazine, I think I have a couple

Normal denominated value isn't the question. More than the greater of face value or the melt value of the metal is a better way to make the point.

I still have some pre world war 2 coins.

Maybe i have ona and did not noticed. How much is it worth🤔

One fiat coin being worth more than its face value doesn’t matter if that entire system is going to zero anyways.

This is exactly the type thing we are opting out of with #Bitcoin.

The entire premises is 1 BTC = 1 BTC and there is only 21M of them. Ever.

If we allow flexibility on that, we might as well just hard fork it and remove the 21M supply cap (since 1 BTC can sometimes be worth more than 1 BTC).

Well. These are our 2 pesos coins, the metal around is 92% copper, and it worth more than 12 pesos if you sell it separately, that’s 6 times its value.

that's pretty cool.

That’s #inflation 😢

I have a few pre 1964 quarters and dimes

so do i 😉

I have some gold coins.

rare 1989 silver kenya shilling!

Yes. Nerd hobby of mine 😅

I have a 2200 year old Drachm. It’s very cool. I’m sure it was used in more than a few brothels in its time.

I found a silver dime that had been used as a shim under a cabinet in a kitchen. It's worth more than a dime, but not in good enough condition to be worth a lot.
