I heard the developers are not even getting paid to work on Amethyst and they work on it on their spare time. I also heard they have full-time jobs.
When people have a full-time job normally they are so exhausted from their fiat job that don't have the energy to work on anything. That's not even counting of they have a wife and kids.
If that's the case I can see why.
