One day, when my 15-year-old Hyundai stops working, I’m going to get a Toyota.

This is the way
Until then drive it till the wheels fall off. Amazing how long a vehicle can last when regular maintenance is performed.
My approach has been to drive it until its reliability is in question or some required repair is big relative to its residual value.
Fair point, I've got a 97 sierra that worked great till the transmission went out over 3rd gear. I'll say its not on the road anymore but its the best tractor I've ever had. Pulls stumps like a champ
Hey I just recently got rid of my 97 sierra! Loved that truck. Only reason I let it go was because the frame was starting to rot and the dealer offered me 1000$ for it (scrap value)
Mine stopped shifting into 3rd and reverse, we rebuilt that transmission 5 times until we learned that particular model couldn't be rebuilt. You had to have a factory new to replace it. But hey we got 386k miles out of it first
also don't forget srcurity: being in a car or another when a drunked guy hits you could make the difference from life and death. Still Toyota rav4 from early 2000 is the car I would put my life on
Are you stacking Yen until then? 👀😂😅🤙
I own some Japanese stocks that own a bunch of hard assets and have yen-denominated debt. So I’m basically shorting the yen by proxy.
Those stocks have been killing it, actually.
You are killing it Lyn! I remembered listening your view on Japanese market situation some months ago.. all spot on.
..Toyota stock! For the full circle.. maybe they will make a discount when you buy a car for stock owners in the future😂👀
toyota rav 4 from early 2000 if you want a real car 😳

so affordable... so just good... immortal.... no spyware inside... full of hardware buttons to switch radio frequencies...
Running a 25 year old Honda that I bought new...always makes me smile to know how much money that car has saved me over the years. Going to be a sad day when that car goes...
Please get this, it’s only 10k
😬🫂
Lol based
I feel like this is some kind of secret message...😂
Going strong on 2016 4Runner…would love to hit your 15y milestone!
A hybrid?
buy a used 90s car. 100% worth the maintenance. you’re so real for this.
Toyota > all
I can also recommend a Honda. Amazing how many of the early 2000’s models are still going.
And smoking constantly.
Imagine not driving a 30 year old jeep

NGMI
get a 1996 toyota fj80, it will last till your grand children is grown up.
377k miles on my Toyota Stackermobile
Who doesn't love an old Toyota RAV4 / Land Cruiser / Highlander 😍
Already have one and I’m a very happy customer.
Toyota or Subaru, next ideal 🛸
Mine's 30 yo
Just keep maintaining the car. Lasts forever. After all, there are hundreds of aircraft still flying after 50+ years. Just do the maintenance if you love the car.
Here’s a ⚡️ to fund it Lyn
Gen3 or gen4 Toyota 4Runner
My 2006 Prius with about 500 lbs of 6x6 and 3x6 oak at 6' and 8; lengths.
Got it for $3,200 in 2018 as an R title put 130k miles on it about $1,000 in maintenance and repairs.

I'm sure it'll keep going for several more years before it's Toyota replacement time!
