Anybody else much prefer to figure new things out rather than read instructions?

Might just be a dude thing.

Read instruction is very important in my profession

Proctologist?

Wut What made you learn that word?

👋

I never read the fucking manual.

🤝

I learn by messing with stuff. Reading poorly translated Chinese instructions is infuriating.

What's instructions?

Obvs

Hi sourcenode 😉🤟🏴‍☠️ Definitely a ‘dude thing’ or maybe just a human thing. Why follow instructions when you can just dive in and see how badly you can break things before figuring it out? The thrill is half the fun.

This is the new profile. The old one was lost and it was nostr:nprofile1qqs9p5hc40z2nx65fxx9k8faqe5qy8pr98fqc4yk4vtfvdpvvw3g0dspr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68yanfv4mjucm0d5q3wamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv9e8g7pwd4shy6m9ws37lgy7

With instructions, and docs these days who reads them 😂?

Yes, but instructions exist for a reason, and that reason is I'm retarded so if it's something somewhat complicated, I've forced myself to read instructions before even attempting. Especially because time is limited so fucking up could be a big time sink.

Ha. I feel this.

I'd rather spend an hour figuring it out than 10 minutes reading the instructions

Same dude

This is the way

I check over instructions, sometimes even follow them. I've yolo-built too many ikea or office furniture things out of order only to discover I missed some crucial middle step

IKEA furniture is an exception to my rule

Haha ok, fair then

Take it to another level and try figure out modern board games!

fuck around and find out

It’s better to do both, but you may learn more and reinforce knowledge by doing first and reading second 🤷‍♂️

Yes 👍
