First weightlifting injury in a few years; felt something pop in my lower back while doing back extensions. Fuck.
My last injury was similar but on the front, pulling/ tearing an abdominal muscle while doing weighted sit-ups.

Had that happen to me doing deadlifts last Monday β¦ for being lazy mainly (rushing, not wearing a belt) β¦
One week off β¦ ice, sauna (this helps sooo much), some electric pads I have, meds & rest β¦ not much to do but recover β¦
Hope you get well soon!
Crap, good luck getting healed!
Sorry man :(
Fuck
Had a similar injury, went to a chiropractor and chiropractor manipulated my back on first visit without doing any diagnostics, made me worse, so I went to a sports medicine chiropractor and did many diagnostics and even got me on a regimen of vitamins, did other treatments like massage, ice and heat and light stretching. Didnβt manipulate my back until the 4th or 5th visit! Hope you find a good doctor and get healed soon!π₯βοΈππ

i winced reading this. sorry to hear, injuries are really frustrating when you canβt do your routine anymore. rest up π
Don't no-cebo yourself. Recognize your pain, but be willing to work around it.
Stay active with steps, train what you can that doesn't aggravate the injury.
Do this and reflect on what went wrong with your back extensions. Was your technique off? Proximity to failure too close? Did you manage your low back fatigue well enough in your meso/microcycle?
If something moved/muscle strained, a good chiro with a couple of days of active rest should do the trick.
I had this happen as well 6 months ago. My prior experience told me to not mess with it at all (slipped disc). After a couple weeks I allowed my self to go for runs and other light exertions. I gave it 5 months of no squats or heavy pressure.
Started up squats again, but with 40-50% prior workout weight and the most perfect form I've ever done. My lower back is very pleased with me and I've been surprised at the level of soreness I can get from light-weight, perfect form squats.
