Random guy on the internet who scammed for .75 BTC of fake Pappy Van Winkle! 🤣🫡🤙🏼
Went on a surfing trip in a Oz met a chicka who had “invested in her friends bitcoin company” she had no idea what it was. I had a ton of questions and started down the rabbit hole. Had heard of it a few years earlier but had no interest or idea what it was so dismissed it without much thought.
I decided I wanted to learn Bitcoin inside and out and bought every book about Bitcoin on the market. Studied them and wrote my own book about Bitcoin. That solidified my understanding.
So did I, but when I first heard about it there was only Digital Gold.
Joined an option trading discord, guy in there was heavy into crypto but always redirected people towards Bitcoin being the only really viable coin long term from a currency standpoint.
Have always found decentralizing systems and tech really interesting so I asked a bunch of questions.. Thankfully he was very patient and really knowledgeable so I got to learn about why it’s viable and halving, etc etc. And now here we are!

I went for the first time in my life to a casino and lost all the money that I had with me in 20 minutes. So I thought: what's the fun of this? There must be something else?
At home, I went searching on the internet and saw bitcoin mentioned and started reading more about it. The classic rabbit hole 😄
Thanks for the zap! 😀
I saw a Reuters article mentioning that the price of Bitcoin had fallen substantially. I don’t trust ‘mainstream media’ so I thought I’d take a look for myself.
Realized how I couldn’t solve my financial problems. Wished there was a way. Heard bitcoin had a supply cap. You know how it goes.
Hey thanks for the sats
I first bought it in 2014. I didn't get it and gambled everything away with cloud mining. 2019 at work I said to myself that I finally want to know what bitcoin is all about. I've been in it ever since.
💜😁🤙
At night a rabbit crossed my way
He said it's no more need to stay
There is a way out of the dark
I followed him
The dark turns bright
I followed him into the light
I leave the darkness far behind
I've left the dark
Out of the dark
Because I understood that something's always near
I've left the dark
Out of the dark
Bitcoin is here and there's no reason for more fear

Thank you Sir 💜🫡!
Glad you like it!
I watched a short interview by Mark Cuban. He said something like blockchain reminds him of how the web started. After some time studying blockchain and crypto I started listening to Michael Saylor and then realized Bitcoin is the real deal and the rest is crap.
back in 2013 i watch a udemy course narrated by charles hoskinson about how to open a wallet and buy some; back then as a mac user i couldn’t open a wallet nor buy some thanks to my lack at that time of a “debit card” online banking outside rhe states has always been a pain; the idea was always lingering in my mind until 2019 i finally understood what a wallet was i began running some gpu miners until i was capable to perform my first decentralized trade somehow i hit dogecoin before it rocketed and it was with those gains from where i got my first btc
I saw an article about Butterfly Labs, one of the scammer miners from way back in the day. I thought it was interesting that they were delaying shipping so they could mine themselves, ‘damn that’s messed up’. Read more. Waited. Read more, then podcasts got me hooked.
#[1] you should be reading comments on this note. I know you love to read and tell different stories 🤙😅

Reading now, thanks for sharing!
So I heard about Bitcoin while driving to work one day, mind you, making about $20 an hour when I heard the word “BITCOIN” for the first time! It was a news station on the radio and they just shortly mentioned “ today Bitcoin is at $0.06 a piece but I don’t know what it is so whatever”……. My first thought was,” hmm, I should just throw $60.00 down and see what happens” but then I started thinking of when, where and how am I supposed to buy these BITCOIN things? More importantly, WHO, is a trustworthy seller and how do I figure out if they are? With all these questions going round and round my head, I turn onto the road my work is located and simply told myself, “if it sounds too good to be true, then it most definitely is not” and away to work I went… only to hear about BITCOINS years later and when I saw the price of them…… I almost had a heart attack. If I would’ve went with my original gut feeling and just said the heck with work, I’m going to buy a bunch of these BITCOINS, I probably wouldn’t feel like I failed myself and my family for not taking my own path like I’ve always done.. to this day I’m filled with regret about it. But… being a cancer survivor from the age of 13, now 33, has taught me that past is history, future a mystery, but RIGHT NOW is a gift, and that’s why it’s the present… I’m alive and have a beautiful daughter I thought I would not be able to ever have and everyday I wake up and get to see her smile is better than anything I would have if things were different!!! Hope you enjoyed a little so called, walk in my shoes. Have a great day

My brother invested in it. I thought he was crazy. The first thing that came to my mind was “ponzi, scam, goodbye money”…
But something about it got me interested and I wanted to learn more about it: how does it work, what is it.. Why would he invest in it? I’m always interested in new technologies but only heard about the negative aspects as everyone does because of the media.
By studying and spending a lot of time I first learned what money is. How our system works. Then what Bitcoin is, and I got fascinated and haven’t stopped studying ever since. I have never read this much books since I started studying Bitcoin and I keep discovering so much amazing new things. The rabbit hole truely goes so much deeper than I could have ever imagined. 🧡
Got some Sats from a friend as a birthday present.
First time I heard about it was 2012 or 2013 when a buddy mentioned it… missed that opportunity…
Saw it come up in the news over the years, and eventually decided to dabble. Naturally I thought I had missed the opportunity and was looking for the “next” Bitcoin.
My brother in law advised, strongly, to go only-Bitcoin and “eth if you must”. Fortunately I got to hear this message early, before I lost much on sh*tcoinery. Traded what I had for Bitcoin that week, set up a DCA, and never looked back (other than to thank him for the guidance).
Family 🤙
It was a random article on the internet that pushed me over the edge during the “then they laugh at you era”.
I picked bitcoin as an experiment to test how my psychology and emotions will react on investing into volatile asset.
I did dca with small amounts every month.
The plan was to use it as testing ground before starting investing bigger amounts every month into stocks.
Then I just started to read, learn, draw conclusions.
And here I am.
Never bought any stock.
I have pretty much orangepilled myself.
Heard about bitcoin in 2011.
Couldn’t figure out how to buy it, aside from meeting someone in an alleyway or something similar. Decided that was too shady and proceeded to forget about getting some before it caught on.
Messed around with TA and day trading stocks for a while. Got bored/disappointed and more or less broke even.
Started listening to Trace Mayer’s Bitcoin Knowledge podcast, got fomo real bad, and found a way to get my first sats through Kraken.
I read a Vice motherboard article back in the day about some kid who was mining bitcoin with computers at school and the first thing that came to mind was “What is bitcoin? …and how do I get some?”
I did some research and went down some rabbit holes in forums and threads and quickly realized that it’s a digital form of sound money.
The rest is history.
There was an early exposure to it in 2013 or earlier that I don’t remember, I saw the parabolic move on TV in late 2016 and was like, What? Bitcoin is still alive? Q2 2017 started watching on a daily basis and didn’t start buying until months later from FOMO and maybe having a background that was familiar with Ron Paul, Thomas Sowell, Fold@Home, the SETI project, BitTorrent, and silver US dollars. It really did take looking at everything on a daily basis though to connect the dots.
FOMO is real in bitcoin. Most of the newbies get into bitcoin because of FOMO and then stay in it forever here 🤙😅
A coworker at a shitty job circa 2018 wouldn’t stfu about his TA predictions and kept telling me to get some. By 2019 i was using shitcoinbase pro to buy and sell like a damn fool. Thought the order books were “the blockchain” lol
Hearing #[2] on #[3] in 2020 is what made me realize I needed to *really* learn about this Bitcoin thing. Converted my chump change of shitcoins to cold hard sats, got a coldcard, started running a node, and never looked back
Awesome
I had been a podcast/social media luddite until randomly getting curious to know some more about bitcoin and that was the result i picked for no particular reason. Hadn’t even heard of Saylor before then. So glad i did, wish i had sooner but what can you do 🤷♂️
🔥
Heard about it on Twitter threads
Followed #[2]
Completed 21 days of Bitcoin course!
That's how I discovered BTC
i bought some BTC cause of the hype and without knowing what it really was.
3 months later, i had knee surgery and i took the time to understand What was BTC. And since, i ve digging as a rabbit ....
Stimmy checks and COVID lockdown. I saw apes going after GameStop and that looked like fun. I lost lol.
But then I saw Bitcoin. And I remember seeing it in 2017. I aped in around $56k not because why not. Then I started to learn. 1 hour, 10 hours, 100 hours, 1,000 hours+ of study on my way to 10,000 hours.
I am more bullish now than I ever was at $70k. There is no second best. I have no 401k, this is the only way. I either win with Bitcoin or I work until I die. I’m betting on Bitcoin.
First heard about Bitcoin in 2017 from a old friend on social media who I credit for orange pilling me. Years later saw him build a company and go all-in. 2020 happened and Bitcoin price dropped, bought some, made mistakes. Soon after started reading books, listening to podcasts, and following Bitcoiners on Twitter. DCA for a couple years now and focusing on paying down debt. Bitcoin gave me hope when I was hopeless and I now look forward to the future! 😀💜⚡️🤙🏻🧡
Money printer go brrr circa 2020. It was illogical the amount of money that was issued to Americans; I knew inflation would follow. Started looking for a safe haven and I didn’t vibe with shiny rocks…
Habe 2012 durch Zufall einen Artikel im Internet gelesen und seitdem mich damit beschäftigt.
I heard about it while traveling in Asia in 2011, had so many missing chances 2015 and 2017. I never came to make my first purchase until 2019, already regretting not have done that earlier. That frustration came to an end two years later with the most ridiculous announcement ever: my country, (yes, my country the one I have left for almost two decades) announced Bitcoin would be legal tender! 🤯🤯🤯 yes, El Salvador 🇸🇻 became Bitcoin land!
No zap can beat what this announcement did in my life⚡️
Heard about it in 2017, didn't have any idea how to buy any (live in South Africa) so I lost interest.
Joined Anon groups on Telegram in 2020, found Bitcoin Bullion and Bullshit with #[2] linked in one of them (WeTheMedia, I think?) Left anons once I had the Bitcoin epiphany.
Was listening to some podcast. And he said we should listen to younger generation what they gone use for money. Knew this thing coming and then on clubhouse #[2] @kelly #[3] @Niccarter #[4] and bitcoin community.
Nostr is how I got into Bitcoin. #[2] gave me my first ⚡️ just over 2 weeks ago.

If you haven't yet, I also recommend to read 'The Bullish Case For Bitcoin" from Vijay Boyapati.
Good luck with your dive into the rabbit hole!

Thanks I’ll check it out 🤙
My origin story started with the shutdown nzbmatrix-org. Every other nzb indexing site was flooded with users and started asking admission fees in Bitcoin. On the site I registered, you had to setup a webwallet and call a paid landline to receive some coins.
I still have my spare change from that call! 😁

So my journey started in december 2012.
I heard about it back in 2014 and did not bother to research at all (sucks) Then a friend gave an interview about it to a local newspaper (circa 300 USD tag), still not DMOR... finally I went nose down on it in 2016, hodl since :)
Now LN, PV, and zaps are my daily bread 🍞
In 2020, I was hired to build entry gates to a home and lay block for a addition on the house. I noticed some cool lights from a room and asked the owner to explain what the computer did? He explained the basics of mining to me. A month later he should me how to build a rig. I built a computer so I was hooked. .
A year later My mentor tells me I’m moving to Costa Rica to retire at the ripening age of 30😂.He hardly retired.
I’ve been witnessing something quite incredible happen. The grass roots movement of #[2] . Lee’s built and developed a great community and with help from new friends for off ramp’s the local tico’s community will definitely benefit.Pv bull.
Then Nostr popped up with a cat named #[3] and said party in the jungle at a little town called Uvita.⚡️This was fire.
Congratulations to you all for your hard work.
You /@jack and Lee are a incredible team to watch bro.
See you in Nostrica amigo 🏝⚡️🫂PV
Four basic methods exist for obtaining Bitcoins:
1) Make a purchase using a cryptocurrency exchange like Coinbase or payment app like CashApp, 2) Register for an investment brokerage like Robinhood, 3) Locate a cryptocurrency ATM or store, and 4) Utilize a cryptocurrency faucet to get Bitcoins for completing chores.
Just as the price increase started in February of 2021. I was looking for a place to put funds to have them work for me. In my search I found BTC and bought through the bull market. Proud to say I have not sold a sat since then.
Sorry still a noob and don’t know how to imbed a post here. Anyway, it was late 2018, and was studying the Fed’s balance sheet in grad school. My head almost exploded when I realized the treasuries they held were purchased with dollars printed out of thin air. Now I see this commonly discussed, but at the time I was on an island. My 70+ year old professor was useless, having been so entrenched in the fiat system he didn’t even see it as problematic. I was so angry. I then fell completely down the rabbit hole, with this insatiable desire to understand what money is. I read Naked Money about 3 times followed by the Bitcoin Standard. But honestly it was those old Erik Voorhees debates with Peter Schiff that finally got me. The panicked FOMO that @saylor talks about when it first clicked for him hit me immediately and I started stacking as hard as I possibly could. It was a singular focus for months. Eventually I lost it all in a tragic boating accident but man it’s been a ride these past 4-5 years.
😅 started 2021 with collecting pokemon cards. It was hyped af and reminded me of my childhood.
Soon came to the conclusion that my money could be invested better abd started digging into stocks and then bitcoin.
Was blown away, quit stocks, quit pokemon, sticked to the only real investment 💪🧡
2020, m. Saylor. When he aped, he got my attention. Mass mutual buying in got me to go full throttle.
Spent about 1000 hours understanding BTC, I now run a node, Self custody and am orange pulled.
It’s only been a year now for me. It was the whole Satoshi back story and mystery. It was compelling. The no CEO or or government controlled. The web 3 possibilities global community. Waiting for that arts Renaissance.
