It’s the smoothest option thus far (alongside ln.tips which is linked to Telegram) until a non custodial method appears.
So many of us are making this compromise that we would otherwise never do because BOLT12 isn't widely available.
LNURL/Lightning Address requiring several layers including interface software, web server, TLS cert, and domain name is too high of a bar. If all LN nodes supported BOLT12 you would need none of that. It would be widely available in an actually decentralized manner. It would also have far better privacy with blinded routes.
Demand BOLT12 from LND today. Or switch to any of the other node implementations that prioritize interoperable standards, pretty much everything not LND.
I'm going to give it a couple weeks. The way things are moving I suspect this will be a whole lot easier soon.
Please PR your favorite client and add bolt12 !

Mmmm so CLN might be the way to go here. and I just got LND all set up. lol
If you’re running LND, you can connect BlueWallet to your node for outgoing zaps and link LN.tips to BlueWallet to get a Lightning Address for incoming zaps, and send them to your node anytime you want.
