Is there a progressive paradigm that respects individual rights vs the collective, and protects private property?

My biggest problem with [what I perceive as the progressive platform] is the focus on helping specific groups of people, by violating the rights of individuals.

This is great point. And it's one of the main spectra where the left and right differ - collectivism vs individualism. Fundamentally.
