Guys, how much one new Iphone costs where you live?

Here, when the iPhone 14 launched it was 8K reais (our dólar.)

When the Iphone 15 launches its gonna be the same or more. The Iphone 15 pro will probably cost 10k reais.

Our national minimal wage is 1,4k

Buy the SE

It’s an inflation talk. The Iphone is just an example

Ah sorry, i don’t know, i dont bought new version from a lot of year, but the price look similar in Italy

Nice.

And one euro: 5,5 reais. Sometimes 6, sometimes 5,3. Same with dólar.

And since our comercial things are done with foreign coin, this 5,5 more affects the price of our food and everything else.

the fact that an iphone hasn't changed the price much doesn't mean that the rest of the things haven't done it, maybe that has remained an apple company policy

the problem instead of having one's debt in a foreign currency is a very problem anyway in many places.

considering there's not much you can do about it the only real option left is btc

Yes, this is one of the main reasons I root for #bitcoin to be adopt

Also.

We have 5 times less “poder de compra” I don’t how to translate that. And the inflation price you guys are having now is like the price we payed when it was “ok” here.

Poder de compra= Purchase power

Oh, I was afraid it would be too much “ao pé da letra” hahaha.

Thank you

To be honest is purchasing power. Just googled it. Haha

Hahaha

And sometimes google translates in a way that people doesn’t really use like that in real life. Especially economic things like this

I didn't use translate feature. I googled Purchasing power of dollar and saw many pages about it.

Better idea indeed

But "ao pé da letra" I don't know how to translate. Haha

literally

But there is a saying? Like, one way that really old people would use?

We also have “literalmente”

But “ao pé da letra” is like grandma saying

That’s the minimum wage for 1 month?

Yes

Iphone 14 $799 USD

Iphone 15 $799 USD

Thank you.

And 1 dolar = 5,5 reais.

Since our comercial things are pretty much with dolar, even our food, this 5,5 more affect how we eat.

Absolute numbers can be deceiving, because they don't account for the cost of living in your country. A more meaningful measure would be "a new iPhone 14 costs x Big Macs."

Our minimal wage gives less than 50 reais a day, and 1 big Mac costs 25.

Without the french fries and soda.

I guess like this already helps

That's 320 Big Macs.

You guys has 5 times more capacity of buying something. So this Big mac thing is not working to explain a whole country economic situation either.

I don't know about five times, but yes, more capacity. And I agree that the Big Mac is also not a good measure.

By that measure the cheapest iPhone 14 costs between 152 and 204 Big Macs in the US (Big Mac prices vary from state to state).
