Do you use a yubikey for 2FA?
Discussion
Yes
Not yet, but have it on my list. Interested to know if people using yubikeys find them inconvenient?
No but I used to at work before they moved to mobile authentication app. I miss the yubikey tbh
When you say “moved to mobile authentication app” - as I understand it, it’s more like they added the option for using a mobile authentication app. For example - I have the 5C NFC - I can either plug it into a USB-C port (no app needed), or I can hold it at the top of my iPhone (and use NFC - no app), or I can use the app if I’m on a computer/phone that doesn’t have either a USB-C Port or NFC or doesn’t support physical keys. (Though the app has to be set up separately - just setting up the physical key doesn’t allow you to use the app.)
Not yet but considering it. Interested to know what people who do think of it

No but it sounds funny. Should I?
Yes 🤙
Also for PGP and git commit signing, great extra feature

I just changed to the YubiKey 5C NFC this past week. I like it. Just wish I could save Nostr private keys on it. Or better - that it could generate NIP-26 keys.
I ditched Google Authenticator 6-9 months ago when I upgraded my iPhone and all the data for Authenticator got lost. Scared the shit out of me and swore I’d never use authentication app ever again. But since YubiKey stores everything on the key, and I can have a backup in a secure place - I feel completely confident using the YubiKey authenticator.
