I now have a working prototype of on-chain subscription payments using NWC 🀯

Love this tech

I just tried NWC and it wouldnt work without push notifications. Thats DOA in my opinion. Unless there's a better wallet that doesn't need push

It works well with nodes that run 24/7 or custodial wallets.

Alby Hub is easy to run, give it a try πŸ˜‰

Gimme gimme, also cashu methods?

Which ones?

- "pay this cashu payment request"

- "pay x amount from y unit from z mint to this npub via NIP-61"

- others?

For NIP-61 is best if sender signs event imo but payment request is huge. Redeem ecash would be nice.

Payment requests should also have an additional NIP-61 transport defined (in addition to http and nostr DMs).

I didn't get to working on cashu yet but I was thinking:

make_cashu - returns token

redeem_cashu - returns preimage

Imagine all the stuff and combinations still to be discovered in the future. We’re so fucking early. 😎 The legacy systems are toast πŸ”₯

Imagine if you done that with the only coin that has a chance to figth the system! πŸ‘€

MONERO

I don't see Monero as viable because it's too inefficient with it's use of chain data, if it was actually as big as Bitcoin (which is still small) the Blockchain would be like 10TB - who would run these nodes? What if it also had to include all the txns we make on lightning as well, maybe 100tb?

Among others reasons as well

Why aren't you a MimbleWimble maxi then? It's much more efficient than Bitcoin with it's use of chain data.

MWEB, Grin, and Beam ftw

There are many factors that determine viability, network effects being a major one
