The COP28 conference going on right now is in Dubai. Thereās zero chance that this photo is of Dubai. Googling it, itās of the Munich airport, which was closed due to a snowstorm. Germany gets winters storms which close airports, has for as long as there has been air travel. The language of āglobal warmingā has been dropped because although the average temperature is going up, itās really more like disruption of the global climate system causing more extreme weather. That includes sometimes more snow or colder weather than we saw before.

Yeah the article said they were departing Munich for the conf in Dubai.
But in any case, these people *are* flying private jets. The one thing I can be sure of is that reducing greenhouse gas emissions is not high on someone's priority list if they fly a private jet.
In The Ministry for the Future thereās an radical environmental group which starts using micro-drones to down private jets. At least in fiction, it only took a few jets being taken down before people stopped flying them.

- The idea that the few degrees rise in planet's temperature would cause a havoc was the biggest lie ever told by mainstream media. The space is a cold place. The average temperature of space is 2.73 Kelvin ( -454.75 Fahrenheit). This is actually the temperature of Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation, which is spread throughout the universe. Heating a massive planet like earth to somewhere around 57 degrees Fahrenheit - the average temperature of Earth according to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - is a miracle of Gods.
- The philosophical angle aside, increasing the temperature means the fresh water locked in the polar caps would be unlocked. This fresh water increases the sea level means oceans have more surface area. Which means more evaporation. Which means more rain. Which means deserts can go green. Which simply means more oxygen. The idea to reduce carbon emissions is also counterproductive because more plants can always consume more carbon.
- And yes, it would be little inconvenient for the ones with massive real estate with great views of the Pacific and Atlantic. Well think about people living in deserts of Sahara and Thar. Those who aspire for a drop of rain and pray to Gods for a single downpour in an year. Their lives appear to be benefiting from the climate change.
- But simply speaking - the most important is the selfish argument. Humans simply need more power to run more compute. No matter what you preach - humans would consume every ounce of energy that is out there. No one can stop this. We simply suck up every bit of energy to provide "proof of work".
