Yeah I’m torn on this because I’m not a mom. I have always subscribed to the belief that it is a parent’s job to monitor their children’s exposure.

I think kids nowadays tend to be sheltered from the real world more than they ought to.

Of course I don't condone showing hard-core porn to a 5 year old, let's be reasonable.

But for example, I do let my young kids listen to music with explicit language and we talk abt what it means (at their level) if they ask abt it or repeat it out of context.

I think with this sorta stuff, parenting is required. And to me, that means taking responsibility for the content your kids are exposed to, not censoring what they're exposed to. It's my responsibility to educate them so they understand when it is, and when/what is and isn't appropriate.

Maybe one day we can have a specific client and relays focus for under age content

Kids are living in a different environment and they have access to so much more information. Being able to manage that through age appropriate relays is probably what will need to happen in order to #grownostr for kids under 18. Have to be able to build a trust network with smaller groups and limited access to who can access those relays imo.

My child won't touch social media for most of her life living with us. We will find better use of our time.

You all know my son is on Nostr and he’s under 18.

Same happens with other SNS, parents are responsible of setting restrictions at home router and/or kid's phone level...

Anyway, it won't be their 1st day on internet... They can handle it 😁

I have been thinking about this for my kids. I think I would spin up a relay that filters content. Think of it like the kids channel relay HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
