Why aren't amounts funded disclosed?
Multiple grantees asked to have it not disclosed and we respected that. We are currently working on quarterly reports that will contain a breakdown by category.
Is it obligatory a programer code ?
So for instance if I want to continue translate fondamental papers in french + embassading + conferencing about nostr and cyberspace , I could ask for a fund on a clear and specific program ?
No, it does not have to be code and your examples could potentially be funded.
From the about page:
"We distribute grants to a wide variety of contributor types (developers, designers, researchers, educators, reviewers, and the like), but only to those working on Bitcoin and open-source projects that will improve public access to Bitcoin infrastructure."

Donette for nostree.me π€
I have built a bitcoin lightning ATM called 'The B.A.T' - Would love to apply to build this out further and develop accompanying open source products... Particularly have a great idea for a pos.

Will there be reports on results achieved?

Glad @pablof7z for asking @Gigi to shill @OpenSats. It should be relayed more often so a newbie like me would see the notes.
I guess itβs appropriate time to shill my profile 4freedomtech@iris.to β¦

How does the money get into the hands of the people contributing to funded projects? Dies it just go to one of the maintainers and they decide if and when money should be allocated to contributors?
For example, I noticed that SeedSigner is on there, which is both great and appropriate. However, as I've started contributing to the project, I found it doesn't run on the current version of Debian, nor the old version of Debian, nor any 64-bit version of Debian.
It seems strange that a project that is funded to the level of millions of sats would have these basic maintenance issues and technical debt.
I don't mean to imply that the funding is being misappropriated or that there is any wrongdoing on any of the SeedSigner maintainers part. I just want to understand how OpenSats works. Once I understand that, then if I have any suggestions on how to improve things (e.g. the incentive to pay down technical debt), I can talk the they people in a position go make those decisions.
