Ask the lads trimming the trees around powerlines if they could drop off a load of mulch. Will be great compost in a few months.

How often will you stir it up?

Probably whenever I think of it. I have a low time preference. Will a few piles every six months or so as to have perpetual goodness

Down here in the tropics the compost likes have to be turned very frequently or they can catch fire!

I see.

This is how I do it, I have 3 companies using me as a drop off for free. Going rate here is $25/yard otherwise.

Yer he is going to dump every six months or so so I have perpetual free goodness. He saves time hauling and I get free mulch Everyone wins.

I had several loads dumped over a year ago. I have not turned it but it still has a way to go before it will be compost. That said, I take all I can get. Building soil fertility takes time.

Yer now I have a relationship with the guy doing the job he will drop a load or two every 6 months or so. Perpetual goodness for free

This is legitimately one of the best ways to add (free!) organic matter into your systems! Wood chips not only add organic matter but also increase fungal activity and water retention, reduce compaction, etc. we go though roughly 100yds of wood chips a year on our small farm.

Awesome

Check out Johnson su bioreactor. Best compost possible. Landscape fabric, wire fence, 5-6’ circle, water daily. Put in compost worms, 4 inch pipes. You can remove pipes when everything is settled.

Love it

Ask them what kind of beer they like, buy them a 12 pack of it, and tell them it;ll be waiting at the drop off point.

$20 for a yart of biomass ain't a bad trade.

A 12-pack?

Has shrinkflation destroyed your ambitions?
