You're probably having trouble sprouting the comfrey because your seeds are probably Bocking #4 or #14 and the seeds are Sterile. Is this seed from your own plants or plants of others?
These were seeds ordered online. If I had one come up Iβd divide myself. Tried cold strat, scoring, indoor, outdoor. Received a couple packs from different batches so donβt think it was a bad batch.

Iβve never shipped crowns but I have shipped root cuttings with great success
You get more bang for your buck with cuttings
