Ok, so i'm trying to up my game. I taught myself how to install Linux on refurbished laptops. Now i want to learn to install Graphene on a refurbished Pixel 8, which i just ordered. Any tips are welcome. I love being able to customize my latops, and it saves me alot of money since i can buy used when i need to replace one. If i can do the same with my phones, then i'll be set. I already use a graphene phone, bought it already installed and love it. Just want to learn to do it myself. Yall wish me luck! #grownostr #graphene

Yep use the web installer on their website.
It only worked for me with Microsoft edge ๐คข
Web installer is amazing. Just go to the Graphene OS website and click "Web installer'
But make sure you download & install ADB (Android Debug Bridge) toolkit to your computer first.
You can find and follow steps to set up ADB for your computer (it includes steps for Linux as well as Mac, Windows) here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Oh, never heard of this, need to check it out. Is it to check for bugs on the phone?
No. It's necessary for you to modify your Google stock operating system.
Don't forget to also make sure your refurbished Pixel 8 has the bootloader unlocked, as well. If it's disabled, you won't be able to modify your phone's OS.
Oh, i ordered one that's OEM unlocked. Did i screw up?
Nope, you should be fine. It has to be unlocked in order to start, then you'll lock it again at the end.
That's what you want. Just make sure you use a really good cord to connect the phone to the computer when you install graphene. If you run into weird problems try a different cord. No one ever mentiones that but it's incredibly finicky about the cord.
I'll keep that in mind, thank you. Not something that i would think of when troubleshooting.
Very easy to do. Follow along with the guide by GrapheneOS below๐

webUSB-based is easiest
Command-line is more secure, more technical.
Best of Luck ๐
Following this one....

Oh nice, thank you๐
i'm waiting for the google pixel 9 to get cheaper because of the sick design and then i will also try out graphene os
