GM. Sometimes you just need a reset. Anyone else returning to work with a really solid โ€œmehโ€ feeling? Iโ€™ve been home for a week and have dropped everything to get realigned. Up early for a walk each day, paying attention to what is fuelling me. Dropped social media for some fiction reading (Mistborn is as good as Lynn Alden said) and am being militant about my sleep schedule. Transitioning back to the grind is tough - what else do you implement to protect your mental health?

I prefer instability than a stable job

Fair! Depends on the leave of instability. I do actually enjoy my work.

**level

what type of work is it?

Well yes I found myself working too much just because I enjoyed that. It took me 1 year to figure out and stop.

GM Chip ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿค™ great question. I also struggle sometimes, especially on mondays. What helps me is getting some sun (if available) and thinking about the good aspects of work and trying to appreciate it more. Ditching screens also helps. I just picked up Fairy Tales by Stephen King ๐Ÿ“š have a great sunday โ˜€๏ธ

Sounds like we are on similar paths! I havenโ€™t read Stephen king in a very long time - think Bag of Bones. Howโ€™s your current read going? Happy Sunday! โ˜€๏ธ

Two-thirds of the way through The Name of the Rose, by Umberto Eco.

๐Ÿ‘€ I love a good murder mystery. Havenโ€™t read many historical ones. How are you finding it?

Totally enjoying it. It sometimes gets pretty detailed on the technical theological issues, but I love that kind of stuff. The time period is set when Scholasticism is reaching its zenith and the scientific method is starting to creep into the discourse. Itโ€™s fun reading how certain orders and theologians ties themselves into knots trying to interpret everything into the scriptural framework, meanwhile the more open are realizing new ways of thinking, mindful of the impending Inquisition and being burned at the stake. All wrapped up with an active serial killer loose in the abbey.

Added to the list!! ๐Ÿ“•

It's really enjoyable. Not the usual King. The story reminds of the wizard of Oz. Have not finished it yet ๐Ÿค“

someone on Nostr recommended Fairy Tale, the audiobook.

The reviews on amazon and goodreads are very polarized.

most people love the beginning and dislike anything after that. Which I agree with.

I'm enjoying it so far ๐Ÿค“

GM ๐Ÿ‘

Sounds like you're doing all the right things!

Definitely, how about a sprinkle of CrossFit though ๐Ÿซก

Oh man, my vehicle died last week - my CrossFit spot is across town. Itโ€™s breaking my heart not to be there. Home gym until new car.

Oh man, that sucks!! Nice that you have some gear at home though

Iโ€™m doing banded pull ups in my basement till I can compete with you guys ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aww looking forward to have you on Bord ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™ƒ

Nice GM!
