Class 2: I did this with eyes closed about half the time. Nothing glorious about it except that little snippet of info 😊
Discussion
Well, I believe it’s glorious!
Ah, thank you 🫂 It's a little rough but I'm still really happy with it.
Better than I could do after a whole term! 🤣
The teacher is incredible & I have a little bit of wayback experience. He keeps telling me I'm doing great but I'm suspicious of compliments 😂
Was Whitney Houston singing while you were doing this?
Hahaha, no, unfortunately. It was mostly just me in my head repeating potter's matras
I like it.
We have about 4 or 5 of our friends home made bowls. I like their uniqueness in amongst the boring perfect ones. This is the size & shape I've been wanting her to make us. Hers are all much smaller (possibly to conserve clay).
How did it feel to close your eyes?
It was really neat. Keeping things centered & even, gauging thickness, finding angles, etc is a lot more intuitive through touch than vision. Rather than trying to figure out where all those fingers are supposed to go, they just kind of find their spot on their own, when that level of conscious awareness is interrupted. It is very much like the bolt/hole analogy but with a lot less cussing 😂
