Hi, I’m a septuagenarian who’s been online since the 1990’s. I like to noodle with image creation and manipulation, and a bit with music as well. I’m currently learning to do so with AI. I consider myself to be a Libertarian. I heard about Nostr from a Reason.com article and decided to take it for a spin.

Hello! Using hashtags in your notes like #art #artstr #AI #tunestr is a good way to help others find you, and to find others with similar interests.

#asknostr is a good one if you have a question, technical or not.

Welcome πŸ‘‹

Hell yea! Welcome! We need more septuagenarians on Nostr. The 90s on the Internet was a special time (that I caught the tail end of, born in 85)

Stoic Mental Health Counseling? That’s intriguing. Thanks for the follow!

Thanks.

Actually there are several modern schools of psychotherapy that have based their systems around the Stoics and their beliefs.

Viktor Frankl's Logotherapy and the ever popular and effective Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for example.

It was the effectiveness of those therapies with my clients and in my own life that drove me to read and study the source material. There isn't much left in existence, unfortunately, but what there is, is definitely worth the read.

If your interested in looking into a modern interpretation of Stoicism based on the ancient texts, I would recommend Ryan Holiday's work, specifically 'The Obstacle is the Way'. Also, Donald Robertson's 'Stoicism and the Art of Happiness' is very good as a jumping off point too. 😊
