At a hotel breakfast buffet with cappuccino machines, but the only milk option is skim. So the cappuccinos are shit.
Starting my day off with some first world problems.

What's skim?
No fat.
Just sugar water basically.
I’d differentiate skim milk. Lactose is a natural, low glycaemic sugar. Not quiet sugar water (altho I may have missed the tone of your comment) and it’s not like it’s added sugars in the same way as other low/no fats foods. Still, full fat essential for a good coffee, semi skimmed on cereal, and skimmed milk probably worth just keeping it in the cow!!
Milk has unique properties that, for better or worse, makes it not like any other product solid or liquid. Removing the fat destroys some of them - but it doesn't make it Sugar Water, again, for better or worse.
Also, carbs aren't evil - they are only a problem if that's all you have. Same for seed oils.
The problem is most people get 90% of their calories from carbs and seed oils, whereas it should be more like 20-30% from carbs and maybe 2-3% from seed oils, and that includes nuts ( which are basically whole food seed oils ).
Why drink milk from a machine, and not from the cow?
Can’t fit the cow in muh kitchen 🤷♂️
coffee is essential for most people, like water right?
Not for me. It if I see a cute little machine that makes a cappuccino I’m like, “okay let’s have a treat!”
And then the gotcha is that they stripped all the good fat out and made it shittier.
First Principles Mindset:
— Get an espresso
Or,.when traveling, be like Caine from Kung Fu and ask for a glass of water https://youtu.be/0JbLkZCJS9U
Flip a table while shouting "this is unacceptable, do you know who I am!"
That reminds me of running out of drinking water & also eating soup powder right out of the bag in really annoying waves & no wind…
But then again sailing is ALWAYS great! ;-)
I wonder now how much of the low-fat push in the 80s was a form of shrinkflation during an inflationary period. My whole life we drank skimmed but recently I started buying 3% and 6% plain yogurt.
I can't even find whole milk where I'm at, though cooking cream is a reasonable substitute for some recipes.
Good morning Lyn,
hope you could rest well.
Maybe this is a sign from above.
Maybe it is time for you ...
To come to the dark side of coffee!
;-) Have a great Day and be grateful
milk=shit
At least that’s my personal experience as lactose intolerant
You can add butter and the creamy taste comes back. But it’s still not the same of course. #coffeechain
The butter in hotels is often butter + something else unsavoury
They may want you to drink an Americano or an Espresso instead to reduce costs. lol 😂
While this may seem like an intentional rebellion against whole fat milk and decent cappuccinos, my 15 years of experience in F&B says someone simply failed to place a proper order 😄
lol... at least you can rest in the knowledge that you are sophisticated enough to have * recognized * this... open barbarism... lol...
I learned to book hotels with no breakfast included. I end up eating shit if eat their breakfast whilts i nice local cafe close by the hotel offer better at the same cost 😅
I remember in Dubai they sell this strange pastry that has a green something on it. I thought it was pesto, And then it was spicy. I think that was the only thing I ate For the whole day on my way back from South Africa. Yoy.
The best type of coffee is black, unsweetened coffee anyway 😃
Start the day with a large gin and tonic with lime. Yumminess.
🫂 I feel your pain ☕💜
hahaha. Sorry.
has to be 2% or heavier. ☕️
Whole milk maximalist
Haha, it happens! Enjoy the coffee despite the milk dilemma, and here's to a great day ahead!
That sucks, you got to get coconut milk. That's the good stuff!
Add butter
The butter here has vegetable oil mixed with it.
Anything bad on olive oil? 🫒
Only that in the US you can label it EVOO when it is 30% seed oil.
Otherwise it is wonderful!
olive oil is associated with health benefits - while we want successful bitcoiners to die fast and forget their keys 😳
for some reason today youtube suggested to me a 2 year old video about plant oils: https://youtu.be/cjL8wv2CXM4?si=9mTFKvZz7bfkgu7-
tldr: carnivore influencers ignore clinical trials and focus on selected correlations between vastly different populations
Watching, thanks for the contribution
that's horrible.
