Why do we have any non-essential features at all on nostr? Uploading photos, videos, setting profile pics, bios, usernames, reposting and quoting notes. These are all ridiculous unnecessary indulgences and wastes of resources. It is ridiculous that user needs have forced devs to focus on apps for consumer mobile devices and computers, when if we really want the world to be free and decentralized we need a nostr client that will run on any device in the world no matter what it is. Stop being so selfish you guys.

By celebrating devs telling users to essentially fuck off over issues and features that have been discussed and requested for well over a year and a half? Is this how we grow nostr sir? Devs being assholes to users?

Devs on nostr don’t care about users dude, they care about venture capital financing, “donations” and circle jerking each other with their new dev ideas at fancy restaurants around the globe during “conferences”.
He's not being an asshole. His company's priorities are just different than yours. I want a GIF button in Amethyst too, man. I also realize that I've been surviving without one thus far and would rather see a more stable and better app than a feature that doesn't ultimately change the app all that much. I want them both to implement Nests. They told me they will eventually. I trust them to do it when time permits. Until then, I'm still going to do my best to continue to grow Nostr and support them.
He’s 100% being an asshole. What app is crashing so often? You keep mentioning that. Agreed that should be a priority for that dev. Neither Primal, Damus, or Nostur have that severe of an issue. Building out features that causes users to actually want to use the app is the way to grow nostr. This isn’t a novel idea. Will’s priorities are his prerogative but he shouldn’t be surprised then when he continues losing users and support.

I get this. I've wanted certain basic things added to an app that I use and pay for (outside of Nostr). Many people have made the same request. It's annoying to feel unheard or dismissed as the case may or may not be.
It's also got to be annoying to be a #dev and have people asking for stuff all the time... it's not just you or me asking it's us and a bunch of other people who we do or do not know.
Anyway, my way is to ask and then bide my time not knowing until an app or service that better suits my needs arrives and then make a decision : stay or go. (I'm looking at you #ProtonMail on #Android)
I don't care about the GIF button at all for what I use Nostr for but people with a real need for it do. 🫂🤙And devs have other stuff too.
