My mom was a big fan of milk oolong, so I decided to make my first cup from the Alishan milk oolong in honor of her.
I was slightly wary because milk oolongs are actually one kind I have tended not to like. Iโve only ever had two, but thought both had a weird aftertaste.
This one has no weird aftertaste, but is a pure delight! I would say itโs โforestyโ with lots of bright fresh herby notes and a little mild earthiness.
I pretty much always drink fine teas โgrandpa styleโ (throwing all the leaves in the cup and leaving them there) which Iโm sure gives the real tea fans palpitations, but I may try to save a little of each of these particular teas to do in a real gongfu way as their makers intended.
