nostr:npub1jrx2fk666k5nt8vgak9xwyxlgcwh8fl9rvpwvvcpdthuqkcnptrqdfhtaq got me a wonderful Motherโ€™s Day gift! This sampler of oolongs, which are my favorite kind of tea, is really exciting.

My mom was a big fan of milk oolong, so I decided to make my first cup from the Alishan milk oolong in honor of her.

I was slightly wary because milk oolongs are actually one kind I have tended not to like. Iโ€™ve only ever had two, but thought both had a weird aftertaste.

This one has no weird aftertaste, but is a pure delight! I would say itโ€™s โ€œforestyโ€ with lots of bright fresh herby notes and a little mild earthiness.

I pretty much always drink fine teas โ€œgrandpa styleโ€ (throwing all the leaves in the cup and leaving them there) which Iโ€™m sure gives the real tea fans palpitations, but I may try to save a little of each of these particular teas to do in a real gongfu way as their makers intended.

Thank you, my love! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Sounds like an awesome mom that you have

Interesting - Iโ€™ll have to take a look at this company. Iโ€™m a big fan of anything from Beautiful Taiwan Tea Company.

Also, Happy Motherโ€™s Day!

fun fact: ้‡‘ๅฎฃ (jinxuan) is tea variety developed in the 1980s in Taiwan, it was developed by the tea research institute to increase yields by having the plant grow faster sharing characteristics of tea plants grown at higher altitudes. it is among the first of the institute's creation

going along with the mother's day theme, it's namesake belongs to the creator's (who was the first director of the institute) grandmother, theres also another one ็ฟ ็މ named after his mother

็ฟ ็މ also sounds like a perfect name for a tea ๐ŸŒฑ

it sure sounds better than Taiwan Tea No.13 ๐Ÿคฃ
