I keep training simple and stress free by focusing on the four areas:

- Starting Strength - maintain strength.

- ATG - maximize mobility.

- Sprinting - maximize agility.

- Climbing - focused fun.

These are the areas I can't remove without affecting my physical health, each one brings its own benefits, and so they remain and keep getting attention.

ATG is great. Been working with the sled for over a year. Good results

Just do martial arts ;) it covers it all

Martial arts are great! But due to the natural imbalances they cause, ATG helps prevent those and prevent injury. The ATG programming is designed to be super complimentary to the sport you play:

This. Yes

"Laser why have you been on Starting Strength for years and years?"

I used Starting Strength as a springboard into ATG and sprinting.

I noticed that my climbing actually suffered from focusing on lifting too much, so I added ATG and sprinting to balance things out.

Even though SS is geared towards newcomers, I actually find focusing on the basic big lifts (squat, press, bench, deads) perfectly maintains strength for a minimal cost of about 90 mins a week.

This gives me more time to devote to the other areas. Being a massive lifter should not be the goal; having enough strength and energy to do your job as a man should be.

90 mins full body strength training a week is all that's necessary for that purpose.

I miss climbing. Stopped five years ago. Had a bad ground fall about 8 or 9 years ago. Been challenging to recover

I really enjoy gym climbing. Easy to do every week, even with a family. Easy to get in the zone and really work the body to near exhaustion.

Start there to get back into it.

On days off, I like to do active recovery by either walking/rucking, or stick mobility.

I'm still new to stick work, but the ROI seems very good and it can be done anywhere.
