Have less stuff.

*stop saving in fiat

Doubt anyone who reads this sees fiat as a savings vehicle.

I suppose that is true.

Whole thread is full of people reminding me that Bitcoin exists and it's like... I'm trying to talk about something other than Bitcoin, for once. 😂

Y'all killing me, here.

Hey! I'm not a BTC maxi. I have other assets that I acquire, too. Don't assume my anti-fiat financial vehicles. 😝

Single father here! 👋 Any advice on how to prevent a tempermental 6-year-old girl from throwing tantrums all the time?! 😅

Nope. Good luck with that!

LOL! Lookin' to adopt? 25% off with Bitcoin! 👀

Also no. Ya fricken weirdo.

I don’t traffic humans that’s some other guy.

Also 25% is a fine discount but I have zero experience in the adoption market so not sure what the going rate would be for a temperamental 6 year old girl.

Still no though thanks. ✌🏻

I wasn't trying to be a weirdo.

Ok. Seriously though maybe your daughter just needs some attention and stimulation but 🤷🏼 I have a son never had the screaming daughter problem to solve not interested in paying to try my hand at it 🤣

Alright, thanks. 😏 Learn to take a joke, mate.

🤷🏼 I think my replies are fine imo it’s weird to joke about selling your kid for bitcoin on social media. Don’t try and guilt trip me because I didn’t find it funny and felt compelled to put that message here. I recognize it’s meant to be a joke. #notafunnyjoke

Stop bickering in my thread, both of you roosters.

😳 Yes ma’am ☹️ apologies 🙏🏻

🤣

Are you the Jewish version of Nigbot, or something?

Нет

It reminds me the nazi movie "the sweet jew" somehow...

Could be.

Just someone displaying their antisemetic tourettes.

A lot of people did this including myself and couldn’t achieve financial freedom. You need to beat inflation with something.

Mass asset acquisition. Lol. Not everything is about bitcoin.

Yes, it's about focusing on owning the valuable stuff and getting rid of stuff that owns you.

Didn’t say bitcoin but nothing has performed better.

I was just pointing out that her list of 3 steps will not achieve financial freedom without something to beat inflation.

✊🏼💎😹

In my experience it goes like, invest on tools and infrastructure so that you become a supplier of stuff for your consuming needs. In other words i have gardens, livestock and i cut my own wood. That saves me thousands of euros every year, i consume better quality food, i don't really care about the oil prices, i stay fit (well, sort of 😁)

Yeah, a lot of it is trading time and effort for money. Cook dinner and then you don't eat out. Repair your clothes instead of purchasing new ones.

No it's not the same. That's in the category recycle and repair, which is also good though

I'm totally on the reduce, reuse, recycle train.

That's good. It really is. Hopefully you'll get to the next (i believe it's next) phase. Invest and produce.

I'm already there. That's why we're building Nostr clients and stacking sats.

Ha! I like that answer. Go on reader 👍

Yeah, that doesn't work.

I do agree that living frugally is a VERY good tool for happiness and financial freedom.

But (as MAHDOOD says below) you also need an income, or investment that will "beat inflation".

If you're spending less money, that means that you probably have a source of income. Otherwise, you wouldn't have anything to spend.

I didn't say "an income"--I said the income needs to "beat inflation".

You need extra money so that you can save for a rainy day. Depending that the income you currently have will be around forever, or that you will have the ability to do it forever, is just silly.

Yes, many can get to that "extra" by living frugally.

You’d still watch your wealth leak to nothing. It’s about beating inflation with minimal effort and coercion.

Also going fewer places sounds sad. Might be a good idea for some.

That’s what the elites want you to do.

Live below your means?

That used to be normal.

I'm rather curious as to how you came to such a conclusion. 🤔 Why on earth would they want you to spend less?

They actually need us all consuming as much as possible, to keep inflation up in a shrinking world population.

Lol. Sarcasm.

They want us to do less, use less and stay in the same place, preferably a pod.

I believe that you have this backwards. 🤔

Spend less.

Have less.

Live on a sailboat and go wherever you want.

Yeah. I'm determined to be hillbilly maxxing.

Would you like to purchase my private island?

I already have a private island!

I don’t like the idea of being stuck in one place. A moving target is harder to hit.

Well, I suppose you're taking your "one place" with you. Mobile home, as it were.

It’s been said, “Marinas are just trailer parks on the water.” Here’s a better one for ya!

This girl wasn’t meant to be tied to a dock!

Better than a military barracks. 👍

go fewer places is bad for your mind

This is what they want you to believe.

not really is the opposite in any case… they want you to believe that you should live in a pod and have a life online

I think it is subjective. don’t you want to explore the beautiful earth and all its wonders ?

Also a path to a 95% stress reduction. Nothing breeds stress like ever increasing debt and ever dwindling assets

Only debt I ever had was a mortgage and I was so glad to be rid of it.

Debt serfdom.

walk or bike

Or take the bus or train. Public transportation is underrated.

Not I'm major cities, crazy junkies at every turn. Absolute lunatics.

Then walk. 😂🙈

You can travel the world on a shoe string budget, with some patience and planning. Most Bitcoiners I know are nomads, I am not sure I agree with your last point. Exploring this beautiful planet is one of the best ways you can make use of your time imo.

Most of us have families and local ties. Thankfully.

You can keep local ties and still travel the world, not sure they are mutually exclusive.

The are geographically exclusive.

I can't dispute that. Luckily, I have extended family all over. Norway, Switzerland, Scotland, South Africa, California etc. I plan on taking my cousin and daughter to Hawaii this summer. 🥳😎

What is your budget?

We spend about 2/3 of income for a family of 4 and save or invest the remainder.

Sounds like a good plan!
