also.

Does Monero have a better scaling path without multiple layers. I am clueless about it.

monero scales worse than BTC due to larger tx size.

so it would still need an L2 to scale.

Is there L2 solutions happening?

not really.

its not necessary right now.

monero does 8-10% of Bitcoins daily tx volume.

and tbh, since lots of Bitcoin tx are entities moving between exchanges...

and monero doesn't fuck with CEX,

we can be confident the number of p2p txs on monero is smaller,

but not hugely smaller

but we're also not expecting huge adoption in the short term either.

Monero could do 10x the tx volume *today and we miiight start being concerned about hardware requirements in a few years.

after the next update monero will be in a good position to consider the best way to pursue scaling.

I am mining on my M1 Mac. That was super easy.

So far Monero's on chain transaction fees are very usable

I have never seen anyone who accepts monero 😂

maybe time to get out a little

Name 2 vendors on Nostr who accept Monero

Didn't think you would deliver 😅

I have free electricity so it doesn't hurt to try it out. I can imagine a future where both bitcoin are useful for different things. Thanks for opening me up to new ideas.

Its super easy for sure.

only really profitable tho if you do have free energy. which is why I have a couple fast CPUs that burn off my excess in the middle of the day 👍

I have only solar power and plenty that goes to waste. Not enough for asics but this could be a great way to use some power up. What is an inexpensive used machine that would be good for burning power. My m1 mac is doing 2100 h/s and uses almost no power.

I build my own. Ideally you want something with a newer Ryzen CPU and some fast RAM (not a lot, but low latency is important).

Maybe you can find somebody who's upgrading their gaming rig.
