100000% agree
For me this was true. I hope it isnβt for my daughter though.
agreed. how to you balance this in your own life, where your own children likely have it much easier than you did? itβs something I think about often.
I think of myself as creating good well balanced people like Arnold talks about in the clip above. I donβt need them to be insane like me. Lol
To be Mr. Olympia? Drive, certainly. But if you donβt have elite tier genetics, absolutely no chance despite infinite drive. I.e. uniformly big muscle bellies, higher proportion of type2 muscles fibers, high androgen receptor density, longer legs, small waist/hips, myostatin gene mutations, and (perhaps most importantly) excellent response to steroids.
Or, in the case of Arnoldβs farcical 1980 Olympia win, outright corruption.

You are right to a certain degree. However, how do you explain guys with no legs turning up for an ultra marathon? David Goggins ran 100 miles in less than 24 hours with just 3 days preparation. Ran on broken legs, shat and pissed himself, but managed it. Only drive and mindset helped him do that.
Amazing what this guy achieved and he was from small town Graz in Austria. Legend. Except for his jabby ness during covid
Fuck yeah. Lasers should have shot out his eyes when he finished that response and finish with βbitchβ.
