Does that look like an Airtel number??
Hard to say. Kenya had number portability for ~10 years. From 2011 to around 2021. Which means you could keep your phone number but change carriers. So unfortunately there's no guaranteed way to tell if a number is Safaricom, Airtel or Telkom. If there was we would certainly prevent payments that would certainly fail.
In addition it's possible to have a Safaricom line, that's doesn't have an active Mpesa account connected to it.
It's also possible people have too high a balance and a transaction gets rejected.
All that's to say there are a miriad of reasons a transaction might not complete as expected. But rest assured we always refund the BTC if the KES never reaches the destination that was input into the app. π
That's the same number!!!!
Safaticom..smh?!!!I'm mad that you didn't check first before you replied
Did you see the follow up before you replied? Payments can fail. Even using mpesa directly. Yes it's frustrating. Sorry you experienced it. Send a DM with your Tando app id so we can get your sorted.
