I've jumped on the intermittent fasting train with nostr:npub19pj6f0nc9q6xr26qe3g8m6xe3hwe0d6p6zcvf57cm3kayghjdj0slnlenu. I'm about to eat my first meal of the day just after 1 pm, and I've committed no acts of violence. Strong start. 💪🏻

Nice! I’ve done it for a few years now.

When I first started, a little butter in the coffee would stave off the violence on those extra tough days.

Now, I rarely eat before 2pm and hunger is much more manageable when it comes on.

The other thing I noticed is that the mornings after a high carb dinner were much tougher than after low carb dinners.

Why did you give up the butter coffee? My impression is that it's not going to negatively impact a fast, since a little bit of fat doesn't take you out of ketosis.

Because I like the taste of coffee too much.

If I have bad coffee, I’ll throw some cream or butter in there but spend more money for high quality light/medium roast coffee and don’t want to ruin the delicate taste with any additives.

I'm also doing the "bulletproof" coffee. My first time around, the butter + MCT oil was a bit too much, but I've been consuming MTC in my coffee for months now, so I think I'm ready.
