I currently teach public school and will be a homeschool mom in approximately 25 days...
My daughter (4yo) thinks she needs to ask permission to use the bathroom at HOME.
I feel triggered.

Very cool, good luck wish you well. Well be doing same in 3 years
That's so exciting! I'll certainly be updating more once the time comes. I'm currently busy working full-time + home life .I'm looking forward to slow living.
We should have done it sooner. We have this weird clarity about public schooling now, as if we were coming off some sort of drug. It all seems so stupid through these new eyes.
We are leaning this direction. Public school teachers in the family are already getting their panties in a knot that we would even consider it.
Our kid is going on a multi-state road trip with his grandparents. He would not be able to have that life experience if he were in public school.
For 30 bucks, you can take a test drive on powerhomeschool.org and see how your kid likes it. We turned off the SEL in Social Studies. nostr:nprofile1qqspn7d0hru9ta0gddd759sw0rk9suty3vgdakcy8ayqdl9geegwf5cpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5hszynhwden5te0dehhxarjw4jjucm0d5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyee03zm6vx recommended it to us and it's been great.
Thanks for the advice! I plan to do pencil and paper at first because we aren't big fans of having our kids on technology, but I'm sure in a few years we'll look into digital programs.
We found a place in Houston called The Homeschool Store. It's basically a small warehouse full of every schooling resource you could ever need, and all in physical media.
In our case, we're coupling school with coding and learning Linux, so the online program meshes with that. I feel you on the tech stuff, though. It takes constant vigilance to maintain a balance.
Also, those real life, hands-on experiences can't be replicated in the classroom.
That's interesting! Every public school teacher I've spoken to has been very supportive of homeschooling. However, I don't have any family members in the field.
That's literally how I feel... I wanted to be a teacher since probably the age of 5... Now I'm 31 and can't understand how I got so brainwashed into public education
Congratulations on your transition to home school!🙏🏻😁🚀👍
We pulled our boys out of California public schools over 45 years ago, before homeschooling was really a thing...😁
You are wise! I'm sure they're thriving now too.
