Signal would be perfect if it didn't require phone numbers or at least had an option to hide numbers from other users like in Telegram.

It would be extra perfect and I would donate to the maker if they didn't integrate and try to push their own shitcoin.

There is a service called sessions which fits this description. Not sure if it's open souce and I haven't used it personally.

I bought a burner sim, took it out and binned it after setting up Signal. What am I missing here? Not exactly hard to do.

That works until some random time later when someone else gets that number and activates Signal.

Ah thanks, never even considered this. What are the chances of that happening? It's been a few years already, never had any requests by unknowns.

It's a Thai number, yet to know a Thai on Signal lol
