I know of 2 clients that plan on doing just this and I've seen mock-ups for 1 of them. I'm sure many will at some point in the future. It's inevitable!

Itβs really exciting to imagine what is possible with a protocol like this. I think a lot of things will have to change to handle the various use cases but I struggle to think of many centralized services like all of social media, eBay, Craigslist that couldnβt be done even better here.
at it's most basic level, anything could be built on nostr even if it just uses notstr for authentication and event sending.
Right. Iβm imagining that specialized relays may handle certain use cases better but that they could be completely interoperable and use the same identity across all of them. But itβd still be Nostr and bring with it all the benefits.

Okay just saw your comment about how it takes a while for the zaps to show up publicly. Do you get notifications when you get zapped?
How do you handle escrow for that? There has to be a way to reconcile disputes and refunds etc. Have to have a centralized third party right? Not saying thatβs bad. Just asking if there is a way to do it.
I see us using a Web-of-Trust and a badge system. Maybe even third party service providers would pop up, providing the badges. They could even handle escrow if needed.

Iβm waiting for an audio event type where you get to hear a snippet of a podcast highlight. Zap the fee and then entire audio unlocks encrypted directly to your pubkey.

Cool idea! But then what's to stop you from sharing it freely with others, or reselling it to others, if you were so inclined? Would that matter to the podcaster? Could the file be encrypted in a way that it couldn't be shared by anyone other than you?

We need a clean separation on the client between the list below to make UX cleaner for user based on what they want to consume/use
1. Tweet like posts for social media
2. Marketplace for products and services
3. Content donation /subscrubtion (gofundme, onlyfan, patreon)
If that can be achieved. The circular economy using LN+Nostr will be amazing..
I envision we'd see something like visiting a user's profile and if they have marketplace items, they'd have a marketplace tab.
