I don't understand how plain soap, baking soda, and vinegar are such powerful cleaning agents and we ended up with a sea of chemical cleaners instead. I even preferred the chemicals before and I can't understand why. They're neither easier nor cheaper nor more effective.

Two of my stainless steel pots are shiny brand new right now because of baking soda, borax, and vinegar. Unbelievable.

Then wrap your mind around the fact that suds don't do anything. Additives are mixed into the soap to make it suds up when wet.

They once made a sudsless soap, discontinued the product because people didn't believe it was cleaning their dishes even though they were watching it cut grease dirt etc.

Sometimes it all comes down to psychology and mental games for the consumer.

Can confirm, suds make me happy.

Suds make a lot of people happy, just don't make em clean

Yeah, I just bought some homemade soap. It doesn't sud much, but it does make me clean.

i hate perfumes... i mean, have you smelled some of the things that pass for "perfumes" these days, are these people sick with covid or something?

how do these stench mixtures get onto supermarket shelves? it's beyond ridiculous how bad the quality has got

Amen. Baking soda and essential oils for toothpaste too. Teeth never been whiter

Shhh not so loud! They’re gonna make vinegar and baking soda eckspennnsive!!

Just wait until you find out what they've done to medicines :/

Terrible petrochemical things ☹️

love stainless steel! so easy to maintain! we have our kitchen in only stainless steel or cast iron. takes practice to cook with but worth it, imo. we use barkeepers friend which is essentially oxalic acid.

I'm also a stainless steel maxi 😁

I have one cast iron pan and some other stuff too.

I've heard of barkeeper's friend. But there's nothing a quick boil couldn't get off so I never got it.

I’ve heard barkeeper’s friend can get cutlery marks off of ceramic, which I need to try.

We cleaned the mould off our deck with borax a little while ago, after 2 bottles of commercial mould remover utterly failed, the borax just cleared it off in seconds.
