Relaying.io please one click strfry or rust relays!
Relays need to be run by the social nostriches, that's why I am working to make this easy with the relay creator @ nostr1.com
Otherwise the relay just sits idle and everyone uses relay.damus.io 😎

Scuttlebutt was essentially nostr with a signature chain and everyone runs a relay locally. Personally I like cloud hosted relays as the embedded model was hard to work with. Just look at how much slower planetary.social is than nos.social.
People should run relays if they can, but many people are not on the Internet (they are behind CGNAT, the thing that stabbed the knife into the back of IPv6 and made most people 2nd class citizens).
I'm totally up for it if it costs less than 21$ to have a smooth and securely backupped nostr experience! But wouldn't that make it harder to pull all the events together? I was told the relays aren't communicating with each other
