You know what I hate about guns in action moves? The ubiquitous, nonsensical obsession with directors that have no effing clue how find actually work so when a character is about to go do something dramatic, they rack the slide/action. Why? WHY? AND THEN... No round is ejected. Aaaaarg! At least with revolvers or hammer fired weapons you can cock the hammer... But I HATE IT when you have some exceptionally nonsensical BS just to show "action." ugh. UGH!

It looks just like this to me:

and the wrong sound effects! ugh! do they not know how guns actually sound?

I'm willing to forgive rid to some degree since 100% realistic gun sounds are:

A. Hard to capture well.

B. Damaging to your hearing if replicated correctly.

The exception to this pass is "silencers."

Ugh! UGH! 😮‍💨🤮😱

How about semi-auto pistols that somehow allow multiple trigger pulls after the mag is empty? "Click click click." Just give the character a revolver if you want that effect!

That's my second cringe after watching them rack the slide every time they pause (with nothing ejecting). The morons could have the character tactically reload instead.

For people that don't understand guns, this would be like seeing someone jumping in a car and putting on the parking break before stepping the gas; and seeing this in nearly every movie.

Or imagine whenever people are filmed eating, they are putting empty forks in their mouths, or using salad tongs to eat steak. It's dumb.

Yes! Good points!

And gosh, yes not all that hard to get correct.

I'm convinced that if you're not a moron, you can't get hired as a director; with the exception of some directors that started before mega-corps took over Hollywood.

I heave to disagree. Hollywood has always been corrupt since before the start. It got worse in the 60s, though. But nothing that makes it onto the big screen is without compromise.

I know every time hold or move a gun it makes all kinds of metal rattling noises, so they usually get that part right.

It's greatly over exaggerated and not done consistently.

I was being sarcastic lol. Guns in movies make so much noise just when held it's irritating. I mean some of my triggers can wiggle a little bit but thats it
