I just finished nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev 's recent episode on "Orange Pilling Your Barber". Both Hector Alvero, in the original article, and Guy in the added feedback provide excellent reasons why talking to barbers and stylists about Bitcoin makes a boatload of sense.

I was particularly interested to hear the part about how jumping straight to #lightning is a better plan under certain circumstances. I'd always thought that LN was for a later time, but this episode has me convinced that some people can and should be introduced to LN from the start.

Now, I'm sitting here wondering what other professions would have access to lots of folks and would have great outreach. Taxi drivers? Teachers? Food vendors?

Def gotta listen to this one. Tryna orange pill my barbor. Currently cash only which is great but the few nearby ATMs that still exist charge me to take out my own money as cash.

Would much rather pay by zap.

Start with paying in fiat normally, and tipping really well but getting them to download a Lightning wallet to get it. This is a strategy that has worked really well for me

Great idea. I have gotten into the habit of asking small local businesses if they accept Bitcoin casually just to normalise it.

I'm friendly with the local barber so I'll follow exactly your strategy. Offer £21 in sats but only through Lightning.

Lightning is for sure the best onboarding tool for normies we have.

Been trying to orange pill my barber and butcher for months. Takes an age. I think lightning actually would be easier than bitcoin to convert them
