keep getting failed payments from people trying to zap me even though I have 16M sats of inbound from bitfinex - one of the largest nodes in the world - pretty frustrating

Sending from which software and what kind of nodes? Would be curious to debug this somewhat.
That sounds frustrating! It could be a routing issue. Try opening additional channels to other well-connected nodes to increase the likelihood of successful payments.

I think fountain is using ZBD so try to get a channel going with them
They should try a higher fee
You need more zap freindly channels with inbound, 0 base fees, 1 sat min HTLC etc..Try setting your base fee to zero to incourange some flow and reballancing.

It’s pretty rare that my node (Zarch) gets any incoming traffic from bfx1 or 2. I don’t see them as all that valuable.
A very good thing to cover would be lightning recovery. I've been shit scared so many times about loosing sats.
Once I lost $3000 in sats in 2021 and @start9 helped me get them back, but still there is some information missing here....

I had this happen today for the first time. My Node is well connected 30+ channels. Strange.
