Agree. I listen to podcasts, audiobooks, or jam to some tunes. I enjoy yardwork because I get to be by myself, unbothered.
I had a flooded soakaway last week, that required days of digging through slimey stinky mud in the rain, but listening to 100s of Empire podcast I had a great old time.
I kinda think manual laborers will become new intelligentsia, many are plugged in learning in a way I can't do when building stuff on the computer.
Did you know Welsh miners would pay literate children to read books and newspapers by candlelight while they worked. Og audiobooks. Partly why those mining communities had intelligentsia despite being down the pit 12hrs per day.
