I was there in January. I enjoyed it and look forward to returning. I was only there for a week, between El Zonte and San Salvador. There's a lot of infrastructure construction going on and I'm sure the country will continue to evolve over the coming years. The people were kind, pupusas were delicious, and the country overall just seems hopeful and optimistic.
Beautiful place
Spent a month there last summer.
Highlights were:
-El Tunco (few miles from El Zonte) both are nice but VERY different.
-Volcano lakes.

I stayed at an array of resorts expensive ($200) down to cheap ($30). Some real standouts if you want em.

Are you doing volcanoes or beach?
I highly recommend the Cardedue Residence if you’re doinf the Volcano lake near Santa Ana. Its a very small country so you can be at beach in 90 minutes so you can easily do both.
