Satoshi never made grandiose and vague statements like this. He worked on and released actual code.

Hence him not releasing the first version of Bitcoin and then leaving...

You're wrong. Satoshi wrote code to prove to himself the concept was viable. Then he released the white paper. Then he shared his beta code with a select few who responded to the white paper in 2008. Then he released in early 2009. All concrete steps with announcements and release of code or detailed documents (the white paper). Not a fucking "we're going to work on identity" statement.
Satoshi's example and the example of the cypherpunks who came before him are very significant. Faffy fluffy posts like the one above are completely ignoring that example. Cypherpunks write code.
