Black mulch solarization? What ya want to grow?

Yeah we are starting some annual garden beds. They are already build now and the tarp has been moved to start a meadow.

Sweeeeet!!! Putting down that 1st silage tarp is the beginning of an amazing journey! Congrats 💪

For sure!

Had it own for a couple of months.

Godspeed. I’ll be following your journey and taking notes.

Followed 🕶️

I look forward to learning about your journey.

My partner & I are doing the same thing in the pacific northwest. Our land is mostly forest, with about 3 clear acres. We are deep into soil improvement, planting trees & perennials and forestry / stewardship is also thrown into the mix. The land supports a wide range of wildlife and we have even seen a cougar.

The PNW was my first home! Caring for those magical drippy nerf forests is the reason I got into permaculture. I love to hear that you’re being good stewards to the land and planting roots for an abundant future. We’d love to see your progress as well! Thank you for finding us and sharing your story as well!

I grew up in the South. Back then I was more into wandering around the forests & coastal areas.

Our farm is coming along. Spent time this past weekend cleaning up an old burn pile and taking the stuff that should not have been in there to the dump. We scraped together funds to get a decent, used PTO powered chipper/shredder to deal with the overabundant course, woody debris. Tons of doug fir branches from limbing up trees, alder saplings that were trying to grow up through the fence and selected areas of the forest floor that we would like to open up, just to start.

We picked up 10 pounds of grass fed ground beef from a neighbor only 1/2 mile down the road. I saw our resident owl again and the garter snakes and northern alligator lizards started using the rock pile I made for them in a spot that gets morning sun.

GM!

this looks like a very healthy place

where do you source your seeds ?

A little here and there and everywhere. Some local from a coop, some from American Meadows which isn’t the most reputable. I love Johnnys for special veggies. But we just got here two months ago so we haven’t planted too much yet. Mostly herbs and perennials we brought from Washington State.

Starting a 5000 sq ft garden, some of it is good, but mostly cover crop of Buckwheat, mustard peas and vetch!

I hope you are well Tuvok!

Dude this is outrageous. I’m so looking forward to see it evolve. After talking to you at Nostrbama and learning the things you were doing and now to see Aerials of it is a trip.

Thank you Bevo! We been here for 10 weeks, it’s really gonna be pumping next spring. I’m truly blessed! Life is a dream. My neighbor has a drone and keeps sending me photos.

We really appreciate the huge zap!

You are awesome Bevo, I’m so glad we took the time to do Nostrbama, I’m sucked into the Nostrhole hard.

I met up with Oshi today in Nashville.

Wtf is Nostr? I just want to meet plebs

Progress💪

Showed the missus and the first words out of her mouth was “proof of work”

Damn, I love hearing that.

Tell her I said I appreciate that and take it as the most meaningful compliment!

I love to sweat!
