#asknostr is there a web browser for android that supports a Nostr extension? I used Kiwi before but according to the GitHub it's no longer being worked on.
Discussion
Kiwi still supports extensions, even if it isn't being worked on. Firefox mobile also supports Alby and Nos2x Fox extensions, though not my favorite experience... I still use nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3wamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwwpexjmtpdshxuet59uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7tcpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7qg7waehxw309ahx7um5wgkhqatz9emk2mrvdaexgetj9ehx2ap0qyw8wumn8ghj7cm0w4h8gunfv4ejuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0qyd8wumn8ghj7ctjwshxummnw3exvun9v94hxtnrdakj7qgkwaehxw309a3x2an09ehx7um5wgcjucm0d5hsz9mhwden5te0vfhhxarj9esh57npd4hjumn9wshsqgpn2m0xrvukg7f3e69jzs9jh2ur0cypps8029dmayk7qfyqgzutm5vylacy 's Spring Browser, with built-in NIP-07 signing, though it is still rough around the edges and not getting any development attention.
Don't know of any others off the top of my head.
Download Amber
Amber works with native apps that have implemented NIP-55, and with the relatively few apps that have implemented NIP-46, but there are still a ton of Nostr web apps that only allow nsec login or NIP-07 extension login, which Amber doesn't help with.
Get on the devs to add bunker support.
Preaching to the choir, my friend. I think bunker signing is fantastic and that devs should move toward it as the default means of logging into web apps, once we have a good NIP-46 capable signer app on iOS. With Amber being the only viable option, and only available on Android, it is tough to make that push at the moment.
Written from #Coracle on desktop via NIP-46 from Amber on my phone.
I love using bunker signer when it works lol
I have been using it FLAWLESSLY with #Coracle. It seems very dependent on the client, and nostr:nprofile1qyvhwumn8ghj76rzwghxxmmjv93kcefwwdhkx6tpdshsz9thwden5te0xyerwt3s9cczuvf6xsurvwf0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcpy9mhxue69uhkxenjv4kxz7fwwp6kscmgduh8wmmjddjhyuewv3jhvtcpz9mhxue69uhnzdps9enrw73wd9hj7qghwaehxw309a3x7um5wghxz7n6v9kk7tnwv46z7qgawaehxw309a3x7um5wghxy6t5vdhkjmn50phkkmewvdhk6tcpz3mhxue69uhkzmr8duh82arcduhx7mn99uq3vamnwvaz7tmpw46xstnwdaehgu339e3k7mf0qqsf03c2gsmx5ef4c9zmxvlew04gdh7u94afnknp33qvv3c94kvwxgsh8n954 has apparently nailed it. Meanwhile, #Olas refuses to play nice. What's worse is, it's an app that SHOULD be using NIP-55 for signing on Android...
I think my issue was I'm trying to use both apps on my phone instead of signing on a desktop
It should work with NIP-46 compatible apps on your phone just fine. In fact, you can actually use your Citrine relay for communication between Amber and the client you are logging into and everything will be done locally on your phone.
Amber integration is on my list for HAMSTR. I'll probably do it before extensions, honestly.
I went with Firefox. I had kiwi before I think but wiped my phone and reinstalled GrapheneOS but couldn't find a way to install kiwi again.
I'm playing with Flotilla so I needed an extension since I don't have a bunk and couldn't get amber to work but I think that was because of an authentication issue. Either way I'm good now.
Flotilla also has an app available in the nostr: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 with NIP-55 login support.
Regular Firefox for Android supports nos2x-fox
Firefox on Android along with nos2x-fox and unlock origin.
Spring Browser is a Nostr-only browser that stores your key and uses it like an extension to access web apps "natively".
